Arrival Instructions

Unbox right away. Place the tree in shaded light and water gently with 2 liters. Let it adjust for 2–3 days before planting. Then follow our expert care guide below for best results.

Expert Tip

Amaltas needs seasonal dryness to bloom heavily. Water less in early spring to trigger more flowers. Patience pays off with a shower of gold.

Planting And Care

Grows best in sandy or loamy soil with good drainage. Avoid areas with standing water. Pro Tip: Improve heavy clay by mixing in sand and compost.
Dig a 2.5 x 2.5 ft hole and break up the soil
Mix 40% native soil + 30% compost + 30% sand
Loosen the root ball and soak for 15 minutes before planting
Plant at same depth as nursery pot and water well
For Containers: Use 24"+ pots with drainage. Use same soil mix.

Sunlight

Full sun is essential - plant where it gets 6-8 hours of direct light. The more sun, the stronger the bloom.

Watering

Young trees (first year): Water every 4-5 days, 3-4 liters per session
Mature trees: Deep water every 10-12 days, 6-7 liters
Increase frequency during dry spells or heat waves
Mulch around base (keep away from trunk) to retain moisture
Overwatering signs: Yellowing or soggy soil

Fertilizing

Apply compost or cow manure every 2 months from March to September
For extra blooms, add phosphorus-rich fertilizer in April

Pruning

Light pruning after blooming to shape canopy
Remove dead, crossing, or low branches regularly
Prune suckers from base to maintain strong form

About Amaltas Tree (Cassia fistula)

Amaltas Tree – Pakistan’s Most Iconic Summer Bloom

Why Amaltas (Cassia fistula)?

Amaltas is one of the most iconic flowering trees of South Asia, known for its long, trailing golden-yellow blooms that arrive with the onset of summer. Native, hardy, and deeply rooted in tradition, it thrives in Pakistan’s dry zones without any fuss.

From May to July, it puts on a brilliant floral display, lighting up streets, parks, and gardens with sunshine-colored flower chains. Even in the harshest climates, Amaltas remains green and graceful.

Easy to grow and quick to establish, this tree delivers shade, beauty, and resilience — no wonder it’s beloved across Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan.

When the heat peaks, Amaltas blooms — a golden blaze that announces summer in style.
