Flame Bottle Trees bloom best when slightly root-bound — avoid repotting too often. For more flowers, limit watering in late April to stimulate bloom set.
Well-draining soil is key. Use a mix of native soil (40%), compost (30%), and coarse sand or gravel (30%) for best results.
Dig a 2.5 ft deep, 2 ft wide hole
Gently loosen the root ball and soak for 10-15 minutes

Backfill and water thoroughly
For containers, choose minimum 24" wide pots with large drainage holes
Full sun only - this is a summer bloomer that craves heat. Choose an open area where it gets 6 to 8+ hours of direct sunlight.
Young Trees: Water every 3-4 days with 3-4 liters
Mature Trees: Deep water every 10 days in summer with 5-6 liters
Use mulch to reduce evaporation and keep roots cool
Add compost or cow manure every 6-8 weeks
In spring, use a phosphorus-rich bloom booster
Prune lightly after flowering to shape the canopy
Remove suckers and dead branches
