Expert Tip

Gola guavas are best picked when slightly soft and fragrant. To store longer, harvest while firm and ripen indoors at room temperature.

Planting And Care

Pot: Use a 20-24" wide container with proper drainage. Ideal mix: 40% soil, 30% compost, 30% sand. Repot every 2-3 years for best results.

Sunlight

Outdoor: Select a sunny location with loamy or sandy soil. Dig a 2x2 ft hole and amend with compost and river sand (40/40/20). Avoid compact clay zones.

Watering

Water every 3-4 days during the first year. Mature trees need water once per week.
Use mulch in dry areas to retain soil moisture. Avoid overwatering.

Fertilizing

Apply fruit tree fertilizer (NPK 10-10-10) every 6 weeks during active growth.
Supplement with compost or cow dung in spring and late summer.

Pruning

Prune after harvest to shape and encourage airflow.
Remove weak or crossing branches. Keep the canopy open.

Weather Protection

In Islamabad and Peshawar, protect young trees from frost using cloth wraps or plastic domes.
In hot zones, use mulch and water deeply during heatwaves.

About Guava Tree (Gola Variety)

A Traditional Favorite for Pakistani Gardeners

Gola Guava is one of the most widely grown and loved varieties in Pakistan. Its round, apple-sized fruits are prized for their sweet, creamy flesh and balanced flavor—ideal for fresh eating, juicing, and making preserves.

Gola guavas begin producing fruit within 2–3 years of planting and continue to yield heavily with minimal maintenance.

Adaptable, Tough & Perfect for Pakistani Climates

This variety handles heat, drought, pruning, and varying soil types with ease. It can be shaped into a compact tree or allowed to grow more freely.

A Homegrown Classic

The Gola Guava thrives in Pakistan's gardens and always delivers sweet results.
