To boost size and sweetness, thin fruit in early stages and remove any small, excess mangoes — this allows the tree to focus energy on fewer, tastier fruits.
Mix 40% garden soil, 30% compost, 30% sand or coco peat.
Gently remove from pot, loosen roots, and soak in water for 15-20 minutes. Plant at the same depth as nursery soil, backfill, firm down, and water deeply.
Pick a sunny location (6-8 hrs light daily). Dig a 2x2 ft hole, or use a 24"+ pot with drainage.
Young trees: Water every 3-4 days with 3-4 liters, poured slowly.
Mature trees: Deep water once a week using 10-12 liters.
Check topsoil for dryness (2 inches) before watering. Water in morning or evening and apply mulch to hold moisture.
Use NPK 10-10-10 in spring and post-harvest.
Add organic compost or cow dung in March and September.
Light pruning after fruiting helps manage size and boost airflow.
Remove dead or crossing branches regularly.
Wrap the trunk in cold zones during January-February.
During heatwaves, mulch thickly and water extra-deep.
