For continuous blooming, deadhead faded flowers every few days. This triggers more buds and keeps the plant tidy.
Use well-drained soil - sandy or loamy works best. Avoid clay or soggy spots. Pro Tip: If your soil holds water, add coarse sand or leaf compost to increase drainage.
Dig a 2 x 2 ft hole for ground planting
Mix 40% native soil, 30% compost, and 30% sand or coco peat
Soak the roots in water for 10-15 minutes before planting
Place at the same depth as nursery pot, then backfill and water well
For Pots: Use a 16-20" pot with drain holes and follow the same soil mix
Full sun - 6 to 8 hours daily. Tecoma needs strong sunlight to bloom profusely.
Young Plants: Water every 3-4 days with 2-3 liters
Mature Shrubs: Water once a week with 4-5 liters
During peak bloom or heat, water every 4-5 days
Apply mulch around base to retain moisture (keep away from stem)
Signs of Overwatering: Wilting leaves, soft stems, root rot
Signs of Underwatering: Leaf drop, dry tips, brittle branches
Use compost or cow dung every 4-6 weeks during the growing season
Boost flowering with a low-nitrogen, high-phosphorus fertilizer once per season
Lightly trim after bloom flushes to encourage new buds
Remove dead or crossing branches every 2-3 months
Can be shaped as a hedge, shrub, or small tree
